In order to model a wireless networks in urban areas, it is necessary to have a map of the urban area.

The map building software possesses the capabiility to specify details such as the building materials for the buildings, number of lanes for the roads and sidewalks, the traffic light intersection, and locations of parking-lots and subways. The software is also capable of placing the infrastructure nodes both inside and outside the buildings. These infrastructure nodes could be either the base-stations or the fixed-relays.

The user-interface is capable of various graphical operations such as zooming, scaling and rotation.

The software is also capable of converting the GIS data sets into format suitable for the mobility and the propagation simulator.
