The current version focuses on urban mobility.

The goal is to simulate realistic mobility of a typical work day in the central core of city. Realistic simulation is acheived by deriving most models and model parameters from surveys.

Some of the features currently included are:

  • Realistic workday activities (derived from US Dept. of Labor Statistics survey)

  • Realistic indoor node mobility with nodes working in their office or attending meetings (derived from business research community)

  • People commuting to work via car (and park the car), subway, or by walking.

  • Realistic platooning or clustering of people (like network traffic, people and cars tend to arrive in bursts)

  • Realistic car volume (derived from SF Dept. of Transportation)
